990 Ayers Farm Rd Stowe VT Log Cabin for Sale

990 Ayers Farm Road, The Cutest Log Cabin in Stowe

Go to this link and check out my hot pick. You know what I like best in real estate? When you find the perfect property. This log cabin for sale in Stowe I am particularly excited about. It has all the ingredients that I like. First, it's in a great locationin Stowe Hollow. Second, it has a wonderful entrance through a tree lined driveway and then the views of Mt. Mansfield open up through the trees. Third, it so damn cute. First floor has the expected fieldstone fireplace, with an open floorplan so you can cook, eat and enjoy the fire. Above the kitchen and dining area is a master bedroom loft. It is so charming and cozy, a rare Stowe real find. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, and a family room. This home reminds me of those old ski posters and the good old days of skiing. You can 't believe how much fun this log cabin is.

Can you resist winter in Stowe, VT

Winter on Mt. Mansfield

This is what it looked like in Stowe this week-end. The mountain is open and from all accounts has great skiing. I am going to take a tour of the new base lodge this week and get my season's pass. It seems that Stowe Mountain Lodge is rented for the holidays and from all accounts the rental properties are filling up with holiday rentals. Gas prices are down, the airlines are impossible to travel on and Stowe is getting dressed for the holidays. I can't think of a reason not to come to visit us. Oh and should I mention, THERE ARE THE BEST REAL ESTATE DEALS TO BE HAD SINCE THE 90'S.

Saying Goodbye to the Stowe Land Trust

I have just finished thirteen years as a member of the Stowe Land Trust board. It has been an exciting time in Stowe to be part of this wonderful organization. We have conserved over 3,000 acres and have just completed out 27 th project. I have personally been a major part of the fund raising efforts to preserve these projects. I have seen the organization grow from one executive director to a staff of three. We have became an accredited land trust as of 2008. This was a daunting feet, with the final document weighing in at 48 pounds.

I cannot thank my fellow board members and the SLT staff enough. Without the direction of Heather Furman, our executive director, Becca Washburn assistant director, and Erin Bruhns, administrative assistant the Stowe Land Trust would not be the organization it is today. They all work tirelessly to help the Board and to meet with potential donors while attending site walks, and fund raising functions. ,It has been a good run and I have enjoyed every minute. But now it is time for new members to take over and bring new and creative ideas to energize the organization.

The environment and the habitats that it protects have been a life long mission of mine. I have been on the Vermont Nature Conservancy, the Stowe Conservation Board and the Stowe Land Trust. I will continue to support these organizations.

Sure Signs of Winter in Stowe VT

      Maggie Skiing in Stowe

The Smuggler's Notch road has been closed for the season. This is one of the first signs that winter is just around the corner. Of course reaching this conclusion is not much of a leap when it's already snowed enough for a few brave skiers and riders hit the hill. Along with that, temperatures have been cool enough for the Stowe Mountain Resort to have the snow guns going. You can see the mist raise off the top of the Mountain like fog.

The surest sign is my daughters constant praying for snow and praising of her new skis. Oh and how she'll need a helmet this year, so she doesn't knock herself out upon her return to downhill skis from teley after 18 years.

Yes, winter is knocking at the door in Stowe, Vermont. And if the early snow is any signal, we're in for another good year of snow!
