Songs of My Father David Budbill

Songs  of My Father is David Budbill's (playwright and poet) latest play being performed at Lost Nation Theater in Montpelier, Vt. I went to the preview show on Thursday night and once again was completely blown away by David's wonderful prose and his ability to touch the center of everyone's soul.  This play portrays the constant struggle between parent and child, between independence and dependency, between expectations and disappointments. At the same time it deals with the decline and eventual death of a parent and the guilt we live with as children who are unable to help make the process easier.

The play swings from sadness, to anger, to laughter, to love:your emotions hang on the edge of each of the actors sentences. The acting is topnotch and in some cases, better than Broadway. You live within each one of them as they portray their parts on stage. Go to : http://www.lostnationtheater.org/ to find out the schedule. Do not miss this performance.

Stowe Land Trust Video

The Stowe Land Trust just release an informational video about their cause. The idea was to show what it is they (and we all) love about Vermont and also to showcase a number of the properties they've been able to protect over the years.

In honor of Earth Day they released the video in order to raise awareness about the Earth's environment! Go to their website to check it out and learn more about the Stowe Land Trust. (Stowe Land Trust Video, Click Here)
