Ride

There was skiing and riding this past weekend!

First tracks have already been made after 11" of fresh snow fell on the mountain, this past Saturday night.  So, might be time to think about grabbing those early ski and ride pass discounts offered.  If you're planning on skiing and riding at Stowe Mountain Resort, they offer many discounted options.  You will find many great deals, including young adult and college passes. These prices are only available until November 6, so don't delay.

Another great option is the Vermont Travel Club Card.  Here you will find discounted lift tickets for individuals and families, at 11 Vermont ski resorts plus Sunday River in Maine. You can save up to $42 on some day lift tickets.

Pay $49 for one card or as low as $34 per card if you're buying a family membership. Typically the card pays for itself after its second or third use. Quantities limited, and rates go up December 1!

Here's to a snowy wintry winter, this year!

Stowe's Stone Hut to reopen soon!

Almost a year ago, Stowe’s legendary Stone Hut burned to the ground.  With a lot of hard work, and community and state funding, the iconic one-room cabin will be available for occupancy again, on December 1.    On Tuesday, November 1, Governor Peter Shumlin, and Vermont State Parks Commissioner Michael Snyder rode a snowcat to the top of Mt. Mansfield to celebrate the rebuilding of  the Stone Hut.  The lottery system will be in place again, for those who want to stay there, and get 1st tracks at sunrise.

The hut, originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936, burned last December 23rd, after a fire started when a wet log was left leaning against the wood stove.  The estimated cost to rebuild is around $276,000.

It's been rebuilt pretty much as it was, with an attempt to keep the original character and the coveted experience. There's no electricity or running water, and you'll need to bring your own mattress pad this year.

See you on the slopes!

Vail Resorts Purchasing Stowe Mountain Resort

The rumors were confirmed on February 22nd that Vail Resorts will be acquiring Stowe Mountain Resort from the Mt. Mansfield Company.  The $50 million dollar purchase will be Vail's first mountain resort on the east coast, adding an iconic one to its portfolio of 10 mountain resorts, like Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Blackcomb in British Columbia.  This likely bodes well for all of Stowe, bringing more here to ski and for other activities, year-round.  Also, Vail's Epic Pass will be very popular, which will allow local pass holders here in Stowe the ability to ski and ride at any one of the other Vail mountain resorts at a very affordable price.

You can read more about this exciting news in Vermont Ski and Ride's article.

Vail Purchase Affecting Real Estate Sales

Ever since Vail Resorts purchased the Stowe Mountain Resort operations, buyer demand for Stowe condominiums has increased.  In fact, condominium sales began to increase almost immediately after the news broke about the potential sale.  We continue to receive inquiries from buyers about investing in Stowe properties, yet inventory remains low.  We have represented the majority of of the condo sales off the Mountain Road corridor, and have sold all of our recent condominium listings.  With the advent of continued buyer demand for condominiums in the area, we are looking forward to marketing and selling more condominiums.

If you are thinking about selling your condominium or home, let us know, as this is the best time to do so.  We'd be happy to provide you with a market analysis, and help you sell your property.

In the meantime, if you're thinking of buying a new condominium in Stowe, here is our most recent listing.  This Fox Hill Condo is an ideal option for year-round or vacation living, conveniently located right off the Mountain Road.  This affordable 3 level condo makes for easy 4-season living - and one of the best benefits is the low monthly association fees!  For more on this new listing, priced at $250,000, click through to our website
