Please be assured that all of us at Coldwell Banker Carlson Real Estate are monitoring the market daily. More important than the market, we are thinking about you and your safety. We are still working remotely for the most part, so if you need to reach us please do so by phone and email.
As a result of Covid-19 and its impact on businesses, our ability to conduct real estate has been altered, although real estate is transacting. As of April 20th some state level restrictions for operating were lifted, enabling us to be able to be out showing properties, which is an opportunity to be able to further serve our buyers and sellers during this time. There are specific guidelines surrounding this, and is ultimately the decision of buyers and sellers when deciding to request a showing or provide access to their home. Where a physical showing may not be possible, we are finding that utilizing FaceTime, and virtual tours have lead to successful outcomes.
Currently, Vermont’s guidance for conducting real estate is as follows:
Realtors may show homes to one person at a time, and with low impact/social distancing with 30 minutes between showings. An exception to this rule is for members of the same household to view at the same time.
- In addition to these guidelines, we are requiring face-covering, shoes to be removed prior to entering homes, and when available gloves to be worn at showings. Buyers will be instructed not to touch anything while viewing a home.
- Buyers and Sellers arriving in Vermont from out of state are required to quarantine for 14 days, prior to any meeting or showing.
- Realtors and landlords may not require occupants of a home or apartment to allow potential buyers or renters into their homes during this extraordinary time. If a resident is home when a showing occurs, it would violate the restriction on 2 or less people being present.
As the situation in Vermont improves, we will keep you informed of all updates from the state. Please reach out to us with any questions, concerns or more detail on how to be able to proceed with your real estate needs. We’re here to help.
As always we hope you and yours remain safe and healthy.
